Baby update

Today I went to my 35 week ob appointment. I am 3cm dilated and she is head down ready to come out. My ob does not want to go into labor this week so she asked me to take it easy and just rest. My first thought was of my two year old running around and getting into things. Its almost impossible but my husband helps so much I know he would not mind doing mommas chores. I think we are having this little girl very soon!

It has been a long time

This year I do not know why it has been hard for me to blog. Blogging use to be my time to relax and write about my day but these past few months were different. So much going on and I totally missed blogging. I have been visiting many other sites that have been inspiring me to do many thing! I feel so much better but I am excited to finally have this baby girl. I have stopped doing a few things and am focusing on preparing for baby, resting and enjoying some time alone with my Olivia. Hope and I think I will to blog more about the last few months and everything I have attempted to make. YESS we have about 6 more weeks to go but hope Sophia Elise will meet us sooner than that.

By the way I am thinking of a new blog name uumm?

Free vacation

Our chiropractor was having a contest a few weeks ago called Beat the Heat which you earned points by referring new patients, answering questions, bringing people to trigger point classes, and by having a testimonial about him online. That would explain my last post. There would be three winners third price was a 2 hour massage, second price was a new flat screen t.v. and first price was $1,200 towards a vacation. We wanted a vacation really bad! My husband worked so hard getting people to the classes, posting testimonials online and bringing new people in. After working hard at it WE WON 1st place yey!

We knew we wanted to go to the beach and go somewhere with cool weather. After searching for cool places to go we decided to go to Disneyland. Our Olivia will be turning two in about a week so we thought it would be nice to celebrate early over there and also enjoy this last vacation before our little Sophia gets here.

It was awesome the best vacation of my life! I truly felt blessed and love by my Jesus that He would let me enjoy watching my Olivia be so happy and amazed at seeing the most exciting place on Earth for 2 year old. Not only was it fun just being there but that we got to do Disneyland like never imagined. With out worrying about anything we ate good, shopped a little and ate some yummy yummy treats. The best experience ever was having lunch with the princesses. Good food and good entertainment. Just everything about this trip was awesome the beach, boat ride, Disneyland, eating out, watching movies, looking at fish, feeding exotic birds. My heart feels happy!

My name is Chris Amaro and I have been a patient at Desert Springs Chiropractic since 2003. Dr. Johnston has helped me heal from all the injuries I have had from doing Young Life ministry with High School kids, playing basketball, and from the college years when I took up skateboarding. When I started coming to DSCC I was unable to bend down and touch my toes in a smooth motion and had a lot of pain in my lower back, and my wrists. Now six years later I feel younger and healthier then ever and I can still hang with the High School kids at sports. Dr. Johnston has helped me with my jaw, ankles, knees, wrists, thumbs, and shoulders at various times. Because of my treatment at DSCC I am able to enjoy an active lifestyle.

Dr. Johnston has also been treating my wife Ruthie, and my daughter Olivia as well. He has helped Ruthie greatly throughout the pregnancy and helped her deal with the pain and stress that having a baby has on the body. My daughter Olivia has been receiving treatment as well since she was an infant and she has never been sick in the first 2 years of her life except for a couple minor colds. I highly recommend Dr. Johnston and the DSCC staff to anyone seeking to feel better or even prevent injuries.

Lost

So we decided to start watching Lost the ABC show, the day after the show finale and we have been so addicted to it. We have Netflix and it allows us to see all the episodes we want. We have watched so many episodes and movies we even cancelled our cable. Thank God for Netflix. The show is a little weird but now that we started I relaly want to find out what happens to all the survivors of the plane. Just hope season 6 comes out before we finish all the episodes and that should be soon.

Camp life

Last week we spent a whole week at beautiful Lost Canyon yeah! We got asked to do a one week assignment where Chris helped run the camp as a head leader. I always love going up there I feel like its a second home and always enjoy every second of my time up there. This year Chris job was to make sure camp was under control and to support leaders in anyway. I love this job for him! I feel like we hung out and laughed the whole time. Miss Olivia enjoyed every little second of it too. Since the moment we got there she wanted to explore camp all by herself of course she did not but it was exciting playing with new toys an new friends. One of her favorite things about camp was this cart that Chris had to drive around

Who wouldn't love it? She always asked for one more ride. The first few days of camp were a little cold but we managed to stay warm.

Finally after the weather warmed up we were able to enjoy and explore camp a little more! We enjoyed some time in the pool and we also or I should say Olivia loved playing with all the camp toys especially the playground that is located behind our assignment house. Fun times.

Two of my favorite things about camp is the night activities. One of those is western nigh where everyone dresses up like cowboys. Now that I have a daughter I can really go all out with her and its cute.The other night they had was Christmas dinner, we all get to dress up in funky Christmas clothes and sing Christmas carols in June. This year Olivia was a cute little present and it was funny because she did not want to carry the box until she notice all the attention and then she loved it! I love camp life and this year I felt like we all enjoyed camp more then any other assignment plus having fun people to hang out helps too! Hope we get to do it again.

Feeling better

It has been almost two weeks since I have been feeling good. I still feel it once in a while but it is nothing like I felt a few weeks ago. I can eat more and enjoy food better then before. Thank You Jesus. I started feeling my baby move and pregnancy is starting to feel good but being not pregnant feels way better! Other then that doc says we are both doing good and on July 1st we will find out what we are having can't wait!

Few things happened since my last post.

1. Olivia learned to say mommy.

2. We(my husband) painted our house exterior.

3. we got a roommate so Chris moved his office into mine.

4. I celebrated my second mothers day

5. I turned 24 :-(

6. We(my husband) planted a beautiful garden for my birthday.

I will post more about it sometime this time I mean it.

Still feeling sick

Nine weeks down a lot more to go! I am still feeling so sick I just have not felt like doing anything even blogging. I am trying to survive and make it through this first trimester that in just few more weeks should be gone. I forgot what it feels like to feel good and being sick all day is causing me to feel a little depressed. I know morning sickness is a good sign that everything is OK with my baby but it has definitely been emotionally challenging. But after all I know it will be all worth it! My husband has been so gracefully patient with me and has stepped up so much I can say I am a lucky girl. I don't know what I would do with out him. Honey I love you! My mommy friends have helped me remember that this is not forever and that its OK if eat Cheetos for lunch everyday. It has been awesome seeing the love of Christ pour down on us as friends and family have come and brought us prepared food so I didn't have to. sniff sniff. I am truly blessed and even as I am pucking my guts out I can say praise Jesus! Hope my next post is a happier one.

Changes

There are a few big changes happening in the Amaro family. One of them is soon we will become family of four an we are thrilled about it. One of the other changes is me leaving Stampin Up as a demonstrator. I decided that is was time for me to call it quits and focus on the good things to come like having a baby. This was not the only reason why I had to stop but also my business never picked up and I seemed to spend more money than I made. I know that made some mistakes and I could have done more to help it but its OK I had a lot of fun doing it. I learned, and met some wonderful people through it. Although I am quitting on selling Stampin Up I will always be a fan an customer of their products and hope to host a party or two a year. :( The last thing in our list is a really big change for us and as we know more about it I will post because it is not 100% set and do not want to rush it if is not the Lord's will. We just need Him to guide us and help us make this decision.

Morning sickness

For the past few weeks, more like since week 5 I have been feeling super sick. Most night and morning after I wake up I feel pretty good but unfortunately most of the day I find myself hugging the toilet, lying down trying not to vomit or sleeping. Yes i feel so horrible because everyone in the Amaro household is affected because of me. My sense of smell is ridiculous sensitive everything makes me sick even my Olivia. I have no energy to cook or clean and feel like I have been neglecting my family and home but right now all I think is to survive and get through this. By far this is worse than last pregnancy. I know it will all be worth it and all I can picture is holding my new little one in my arms. Tomorrow i get to see my doc and beg her to give me some thing to make me feel some what normal. Hoping and praying that my morning sickness days will be over soon.

Three years

I can't believe how fast time is flying by and today we celebrated three years of marriage. Today I remembered that beautiful day and as the day went on I also remembered how blessed I am. The best day of my life the day I entered this journey with my soul mate. God is good! This has been three wonderful years filled with many good memories. Happy Anniversary honey! I love you and love what Jesus is doing through our marriage. Thanks for being a great example of what a Godly husband should be. My love, my partner I love you!

Yes today I walked by the pregnancy test section at the store and I could not help myself and picked up a box. Chris had told me not to waste money on those things because we were so used to getting negative ones. Today I just I just felt like one more time, I promise is the last one. Yes after about one minute I could not help myself to look and saw two lines instead of one. I am so happy and excited for the next addition to our home. We had been trying for a few months and feels kinda good to be pregnant again. Chris wanted us to wait for awhile just in case but you know me if I cant wait a another week to know I miss my period there is no way I can keep this to myself. Please pray for healthy baby, good pregnancy, safe delivery and that Miss Olivia won't mind not being the only one. My due date is November 14 or maybe a Halloween baby. Thank you Jesus.

Have you ever had Trade Joe's Mango-Cream bars? You must. The other day while shopping at Trader's I came across these bars and I think I am addicted they are so delicious I am so tempted to eat two. Besides having none of that yucky stuff they don't make me feel guilty because they are only 60 calories. Although they are a little small I think it is the perfect dessert and really, one is enough to satisfy that sweet tooth of mine. Did I mention Olivia loves these things too? Try them.

I can't believe it has almost been a month since I last blogged. This last month I would see my lap top and wish I could sit for a minute and type away. Many reasons why from sick child, sick mommy, ministry and other stuff. Today after putting my Olivia to sleep I finally had some time to sit down and type.

So excited though I got a BlackBerry Curve and it is so awesome. It enables me to post from my phone which means I can type from anywhere. I love it! It also has many cool applications like calorie counter, map, and a food recipe. I love that my phone gives me low calorie recipes.

This weekend we are spending it up here at Lost Canyon a YoungLife camp in Williams, AZ. Chris had to work this weekend helping to make sure that middle school students heard about Jesus. It was been such a fun weekend as me and my Olive get to enjoy this whole camp filled with lots of snow. Today I felt like such a child because I was so happy when it started snowing. It is because I had not seen snow fall since I was in 5th grade. I remember being so amazed at how beautiful it looked and could not wait to see that again. Well 13 years later I finally got to see it again and I felt just like that 5th grader that was so thankful to God for letting me see such a beautiful thing. I giggled a few times, I jumped a couple times, I ate a few flakes, and I took many pictures. Oh silly me! So happy to shared this with my Olive.

Snow day

This weekend we spent it in fellowship with our really good friends and committee members at their cabin up north in Forrest Lakes, AZ. It was a wonderful time enjoying nature and away from the rest of the world. I love nature because I feel like God whispers in my ear and tells me "Be still and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10. My heart felt happy to see my 17 month old enjoy nature as much as we did. Even though she was freezing and was super padded with clothes it did not stop her from going out side and play. I know she loved it. We went sledding which was not Olivia's favorite but I enjoyed watching my Olive and her daddy come down the hill. We attempted to make a snow man but quit after our ball looked more like an egg. The rest of the time we spent it hanging out with our friends Brian and Teresa. What a great weekend!

The cover that came with my Juanita(my sewing machine) was so plain and boring I just had to make her a new pretty dress. I came across this blog that shows how to make covers for your machines. I was on a mission! Using left over fabric from the Ikea curtains I have in my room I was able to make the cover and did not have to spend a dime. The Zoo

Yesterday we went to the zoo for the first time and it was alot of fun. I love being outdoors and for Olivia to see things. I remembered loving the zoo as a little girl so now I get to shared that love for animals with my Olive. Thankfully The Phoenix Zoo is only 20 minutes away! We will be there more often I hope.

My Olivia had so much fun I loved it.

Hope you Christmas was great. For us this year was so much fun because we enjoyed watching Olivia playing and staring at the Christmas tree. This was a pretty good holiday season and can't wait to create more memories with my family. This year we spent Christmas with my family and that was good. One Mexican tradition is that we open our gifts the night before on Christmas Eve so around 10:00pm that is what we did. This year our Olivia got blessed with many gifts which made me feel good so many people love her that much. The next morning we enjoyed watching her play with every toy she got especially her power wheel quad. Pretty good year but so sad it is all over.

Today I was asking my sister if she would paint an Eiffel Tower mural in my scrap room to go with my Parisian theme and I came across this a vinyl decal sticker Eiffel Tower. I just fell in love with this. I found this decal on amazon.com for $49.99 plus s&h. I also found this mural of the Eiffel Tower had an open window to make it seemed like the tower was right outside. This is a $5.00 project unless your painter charges and in my case I have a very talented sister who will do it for me as a Christmas present. Oh yeah. By the way she painted Olivia really adorable flowers in her room and it looks good!

Here are the pictures we took for our Christmas cards and the cards I made for us this year. I wish I could have put more time into them but after making over 200 in the last month I needed to do whatever was faster. I love them! For this card I used the Medallion stamp set ($17.95) and embossed it with a green powder inside I stamped my holiday message with Season of Simple Grace ($25.95)

Today I had so much fun with my Olive. I dressed her up in her tutu, we sat by the Christmas tree and we dance, sang Christmas songs, watched a Veggie Tales movie, we gave each other some xoxo's.

I know I am almost a month late but today was the first day in a while that I have nothing much going on besides picking up a little. I have no major projects due, I have no appointments in my schedule, I have not sick child nor husband. I am not baby sitting. I am alone and have nothing to worry about. Sigh!

Thanksgiving was absolutely fun with family with us and delicious food to eat. This was Olivia's first Thanksgiving meal and oh boy she loved it. I have never seen her eat so much in her life. She sat with her Papa(her favorite person in the world) and ate and ate and ate...I finally had to say something and she was so sneaky and went around and ate every ones leftovers yucky. After dinner we played some music and Olivia entertained us with her sweet moves. That was fun! The rest of the night was spent at watching movies until we fell asleep. Fun night so thankful for what God has done in my life. Never did I think he would have me where I am.

God, I am so thankful for your grace in my life for your abundant love. That you have blessed me with a wonderful husband that loves you and his love for you reflects on me. You are the greatest example of LOVE. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to become a mother to a beautiful little girl. I am in awe of your faithfulness an love for me. I love you!

What I have been up to.

Lately I have been so busy with so many things and by no means I am complaining. I love this busy part of my life. I never thought I would enjoy my life so much. I love where God has me at this very moment. I love my Jesus. I love my marriage. I love being a mommy. I love being a Young Life leader. I love my life. So thankful for God's grace in my life.

One of my projects this last few weeks was to make 163 Christmas cards. Boy was it tough. The last few days of it was a little stress full but fun and I could not have done it with out my two beautiful YL girls. Mariah and Beatriz. Those two girlie's are awesome. They came to babysit/help me finish and when Chris and I came home from our date they had almost finished putting and finishing the cards for me. They made me feel very special. THANK YOU GIRLS! I forgot to take a picture of cards but they came out really cute!

One other thing I did was organize the Christmas party for our YL students and that was so much fun. I wanted to make it somewhat formal nicely decorated so they could feel welcomed and loved because you know for some of them I am sure this was the closest thing to a nice and normal dinner. I hope they felt how special they are to us but most important how special they are to Him.

This weekend we are taking our Mesa High students so winter camp to the beautiful Lost Canyon. I am so excited to see what the Lord has for us this year and what He is doing in the lives of our students. As of right now we are only taking 10 kids to camp. I wish we could take more but due to fiances that is pretty much all we can take. If you want to help please contact me. It cost $100 to send one student to camp.

This is my first year going as a mommy so it will not be easy leaving my wee one behind. I love her too much! but I have to remember the reason for being there. Regardless I know we are going to have a blast and enjoy the 50 degree weather YEY. So excited to be back in the game. I will post a blog about our trip.

Mornings at the Amaro's

My favorite part of the day is the morning. Not only do I get to wake up next to my wonderful husband but I also have a 15 month old calling me to go get her. After our morning kiss one of us goes and gets Olivia then we enjoy a little family snuggle time (oh my favorite). Then I get up and make us breakfast and of course Olivia is right behind me trying to "help". Chris' favorite breakfast is a ham and cheese quiche so yummy, easy and fast to make. I try to make it for him at least once a month.

Ham and Cheese Quiche
Prep Time:
15 min
Cook Time:
40 min
Serves:
6 servings

2 red potatoes, cubed

1 tablespoon dried rosemary

1 cup cubed ham

1 (8 or 9-inch) pre-made pie shell in foil pan

1 cup shredded Colby and Monterey jack cheese blend

3 eggs

1 cup milk 1 teaspoon all-purpose seasoning

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Place potatoes and rosemary in a microwaveable dish. Cover with a damp paper towel and microwave for 2 minutes, until almost cooked through.
Cover the bottom of the pre-made pie shell with potatoes, ham, and cheese. Place on a cookie sheet and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and seasoning and pour into the pie shell.
Place quiche into preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until eggs have set.

Most times after breakfast we do a devotional together or separate that is concluded with prayer time. Sometimes after bk we enjoy a good massage by our good licenced massage therapy friend Dan Z. Those are my favorite days. Bunch of smiles.

Our morning is concluded when mommy starts her daily chores and gets ready for a fun day!

Fun night!

Oh our Halloween night was so much fun. I enjoyed watching Olivia have fun walking and eating her candy. We went to my friend Adriana's neighborhood and trick-or treated with them. Thanks girl. Olivia understood what was going on pretty fast and her eyes lit every time we came to a house. Since she walks sooooooooooooo slow we did have to carry her, my sister did most of the work bless her heart. She ate candy the whole time we were out the from the very first house we went to till the very last one. So by the end not only was she hyper but also sooooooooooooo dirty. My little princess.

After that we went to Chipotle because every year they give free food(what ever you want except for drinks and chips)to whoever was dressed like a burrito in foil. We can't pass up on that because we loooooooooooooooooove Chopotle! We all ordered our food and enjoyed a delicious free dinner.

Last part of day was so funny because our dear Olive was on a sugar high. She was laughing, dancing, and talking. I have never seeing her so hyper and she got to stay up an hour later. We loved every minute of that hour!

Now we have 360 days to think about next year and maybe by then we will have too little ones to dress up!

Trick or Treat

Yey Halloween is just a few days away and I am so excited because Olivia's costume is all ready to go. Although she will not be Olivia the pig she will be a really cute ballerina.

So this week at Younglife we had a Halloween club where we had a few treats, games and we got to dress up. It was really fun! Since this is my first Halloween where I planned something I wanted to make something spooky but yummy so here are my spider bites and scary ghost cupcakes.

Recipe for spider bites
Serves:
24 servings

1 (12-ounce) package semisweet morsels

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

6 cups pretzel sticks
Place parchment paper on baking sheet; set aside.

In a large glass microwave-safe bowl combine chocolate chips and peanut butter. Melt on high for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and stir until smooth.
Stir in pretzel sticks. With clean hands grab pretzel sticks and drop on prepared baking sheet in clusters to look like spiders.
Place in freezer for 5 minutes or until to chocolate is hardened. Remove and serve.

This woman is one of the most amazing women in the world and I truly mean that. She is one of the greates of examples of a servant. This woman has giving her self up for others to maybe a little bit of an extreme. She has an amazing love for Jesus and for others too. Since I can remember she has always shared everything she had to the needy. This woman I love and this women is my mother....

Her love for the Lord has reflected in many areas of her life. She has taught me how to be a Godly wife who loves, respects and is faithful to her husband. A woman that loves her children and spends much time praying for her children to Fear the Lord. I can truly say she would give it all up for anyone. My my has a heart of a servant and I know is mainly because of her love for Christ that reflects that. I wish I could be more like her to serve others and not worry about how much I can loose or how uncomfortable I will be. I admire her and respect her and thank Christ for blessing me with a mother like her.

So today we went to visit the latest addition to the Costales/Mejia Family

born today at 8:00 am. His mommy looks so good you can't tell she just had a baby! Jealous! All of this reminded me of that beautiful day when I met my precious Olivia. It was a moment that I will never forget when that little thing stared at me and cried! Oh how I miss that. I miss holding a tiny person in my arms and YES believe it or not I miss being pregnant too. See I was meant to be a mommy.

I spent a long time trying to figure out what I wanted to do as a career from law enforcement, to teaching, to nursing and finally I figured it out. I want to be a mommy and a wife of course. I am living a dream that I never knew I wanted. I don't want to spend too much time away from my husband and kids. I want to be there after school, go to school plays, field trips, class parties. Looking forward to all that. I just realized that my true calling was to be a wife and mom and I want to be in their lives as much as I can. Motherhood is awesome even the poopy diapers!!!

So we get to enjoy Olive by herself for another year at least if God allows. It's ok becuase I enjoy time with my little sweetheart and I am trusting God's timing. Talking about Olivia she is growing so fast and learning things so fast. Lets see she can......

A pink Paris scraproom. After spending many hours thinking about my new scraproom and after many changes on my plans I am very excited to work on my room! The more I think about it the more excited I get! Well yesterday our boss invited us to her house for a surprise lunch! Well it was a neat surprise as she had decorated everything Pink Paris ( She loves Paris). Everything about the party was neat, her centerpieces where adorable and so creative. While sitting there chatting with friends I just knew this is how I wanted in my room.

I want the main colors of the room to be light pink, soft gray, black and white.
Here are a few rooms I found that I thought were nice I hope to use a little bit of everything on my room.

This month I have to make 169 Christmas cards for a friends father who is a politician. Pretty cute but I bet my fingers will hurt after a while but you know what it's ok because I love it

So excited about Halloween this year because this year my little Olive will get to dress up and ask for candy. I can't wait to see how long it takes her to realize that every time you knock you get free candy! This year she gets to be Olivia... not her self of course but Olivia the pig

Yesterday I had my second card night event at my house. It went terrific! There was about 10 ladies that showed up and I do think they enjoyed it I don't think they notice I was nervous! We did four cards using the Big Shot, pastels, the Medallion, and heat embossing. I really wanted them to learn 1. how versatile the Versamark 2. learn new techniques and 3. how easy it is for them to see. Even thought I think I need to work on being more prepare and explaining a little better, I believe it went fantastic. So fun! I am excited for next month and I am thinking of doing more of a technique class using the Top Note die cut from Stampin' Up.

So the other my husband took me out to eat at a Mexican restaurant down the street from our house. We both think it is the best restaurant in Mesa and I would say the entire Valley of the Sun! Their deliciously authentic Mexican cuisine is awesome and pretty cheap too. So as we were talking about it more we realized West Mesa has one of the best non chain joints in Phoenix. I wanted to share with you all our places you must eat if you come to West Mesa. Of course our number one is....

1. Moreno's Mexican Grill
It can't get any better. If you want to have authentic Mexican food you must come to Moreno's and try their Northern Mexican style food. Not only are they delicious but pretty in expensive too! You have to try their Sopez.

2. Mango's Mexican Cafe
If you are craving chip and salsa the place to come is Mango's. Their unlimited chips and salsa is one of the main reasons why we love this place. This place is right in the heart of beautiful Downtown Mesa between all cool vintage shops! I heart Downtown Mesa. You must try their Chorizo burrito and chips & salsa.

3.George's Gyro's
THE BEST Gyro's in town. We seriously go there twice or maybe three times a month because we can not get enough of those fries and gyro meat. Our fave is Gyro Platter

4. Bill Johnson's Big Apple
This place has bomb breakfast and the serving is big will leave you full all day. We love the place because they have great service, prices and food. Our favorite is The Pig Out.

5. Yoko's Japanese Food
Yokos is delicious because of their many oriental flavors an spices they add in their food. Not sure how authentic but it sure is the best oriental food ever. Must have the #13 Garlic Chicken with their spicy salsa.

I am so excited to have a girl I can play with. With me being such a girlie girl I have to go all out with her. One of the thing I enjoy doing with her is polishing her nails with pink nail polish of course. Well yesterday I had just finish doing her nails and silly me left the nail polish on the floor an forgot about it. Guess what happened next? Yup Olivia found it an knew what it was. She was making funny noises so I asked what she was doing and she turned around smiled like "Mommy look at what I am doing" It took me a second to figure out what the pink stuff all around her mouth was. Then I yelled, freaked out and started to take it off her lips. That is when I realized she had got it all over her clothes, wall, floor and windows! I was so upset but there was no way I could be mad since that face she made me was priceless. I wish I could have taken a picture of it but I was too freaked out and cleaned everything before I realized that was a Kodak moment! This is what did not come off!

Ok yesterday was such a busy day for me but when i finally came home I was so excited to come home to a Stampin Up box. I got two more dies for my Big Shot, a punch, and two new stamp sets from this years catalog. They are absolutely beautiful and can not wait to use them.

Remember when I said I was getting into being crafty and how when I wanted to try something I would do it?...Well I did it again. When I was getting info on how to make a tutu I came across sewing tutus and said "hey why not?". My mother let me borrow her Singer brand sewing machine that took about three hours to figure out how to use. The instructions were missing so I had to look them up online and also needed the assistance of youtube. I almost gave up but could not let a machine beat me. I played with it for a few hour because I wanted to learn all the cool things it did. The next day I tried sewing my first project...

A tote! not so cute if you look close So crooked and many mistakes.yeah it looks worse in person.

Not so happy but practice makes better. Although I will use this tote to get groceries just hope Trader Joe's people won't laugh?

Well after a few months off we are finally getting ready to start the semester with YoungLife and we are so excited to spread Christ' love to our high school and junior high friends. I am excited to be a YL leader again this semester and do ministry again with my hubby at Mesa High. In the previous years we were only at two school Mesa High and Westwood High School but this year we feel like we are being called to two more schools Mesa Junior High and Rhodes Junior High. We just ask for your prayers that God would be the center of this ministry, our volunteer leaders for physical strength and wisdom, financial support for the area, more leaders who will love on these kids and be Jesus to them, and for the kids we will reach this semester that they may see Jesus' love for them. We are excited and can't wait to see what the Lord has for us this semester!

So one thing about me lately is that when I see something I really like I try to figure out how to get it or make it. Thank God for YouTube because for the past year it has been my teacher! lol I know it sounds a little weird but true. See I was never a creative or artsy person and it bugged me because I liked it. Well I have been inspired by many people and websites that I thought "hey why not?". I gave it a try an I would say it's been pretty cool.

As I was browsing the web I came across these tutu skirts and I thought they were sooooooo adorable! I did a little research and decided to give it a try. At first I was not sure about it since cutting tulle was a little harder than I thought but I know practice makes better. This is my first tutu and can surely say there is more to come!

Workkshop sneek peek

Today I spent most of the day trying to figure out what I was going to do for my party tomorrow. After me and my husband had a 1hour massage that we got here at our house by his licenced massage therapist friend Dan Z, I felt so refresh an ready to be creative. After a looking at a few Stampin Success(Stampin Up magazine for demonstrators) pages and putting some ideas I had together I came up with these ideas. For the workshop I wanted to focus on new techniques, use my new stamps and of course I wanted to bring out the BIG Shot. So excited and ready to have fun. Hope to see you there!

Scrapbooking

Well today I organized my scrapbook closet and I was thinking that a year ago all I had for scrapbooking was a purse with an album, paper and a few embellishments. I always liked it but I really did not have much time to do it so two years passed by and I didn't touch that purse. I worked on maybe three pages and it took my a while to think what I wanted. This past January I was invited to scrapbook at a friends house who was a Stampin' Up demonstrator. I enjoyed it so much and remembered how much I LOVED IT. Since then I went a little crazy with it and started buying my things. So I went from a purse, to a computer bag, to a hall closet, to a bigger hall closet and soon I will take over a room!

This is the purse that sat in my room for a long time.

My husband was so sweet and supportive took me on a scrapbooking shopping spree that filled this closet up.

Since I became a SU demonstrator I needed a bigger space.

Today I had to organize and figure out a way to fit more things in it.

These last weeks I have been a little busy making lots of cute cards for birthdays and for our YoungLife donors. Since I just got my Big Shot Machine I really wanted to play with it. There was new cards and techniques I wanted to try and when I start I can't stop! In all I think I made around 40 cards but for me I enjoyed every second of it.

After a busy summer I am finally having a Stampin Up worshop again. So excited for this Friday when a bunch of gals get together for a fun night of Stampin Up.

De Jardin

I'm totally an organic person because I like to know that what I am eating has nothing that is used to make chickens bigger or keep veggies from going bad faster. What better way to have fresh, organic food than having your very own garden. For about $40 we made our own garden in our backyard and in a few months we will be enjoying the fruit of our labor. It was such a neat project for my husband and I and believe it or not we LOVED it. Although we waited until late night for two reason Arizona is so hot I did not want to be outside in the 115 degree weather and the fact that I can not do anything with a 1 year old.

There was perfect spot on the backside of our house that already has dirt but was empty. We started by breaking the dirt and adding an organic mulch on top of it. As I was putting seeds and planting my hubby was getting the chicken wire fence ready so that our lovely dogs would not get in there and dig out the seeds. That was pretty much it, that fast we were done and according to everything I read on how to grow your own food we should be enjoying it in about three months or less. Even though we are beginners at this I feel pretty good about it and I know we will learn as we go.

Well I can't believe it has been one year since we met our beautiful Olive. This seriously has been the best year of my life. Never did I think I was going to be happily married and enjoy being a mommy. God sure knows what he is doing and I praise Him for the beautiful gifts he has given me. I love my life. Well after many months of planning, thinking, making and buying it's all over. I enjoyed planning my daughters first birthday party and I am very pleased on how wonderful everything came out. It was a great time with friends and family enjoying food, candy, games and of course our little Olivia. Although she will not remember it Olivia enjoyed every second of her party plus she looked so adorable!

I did not have a candy buffet after all but with all the unexpected guest that showed up it would have not been a good thing anyway. Instead I made the cutest treat bags out of white lunch bags that I got from Target and stamped them with my favorite stamps. I was so proud of all the decorations some I made, like the birthday banner and the party sign for the door. Some stuff I bought like the paper flowers that hung from the ceiling fans and the party ribbon that hung from the ceiling. The cute table setting for all the tables was the thing I was most proud of. I bought polka dot fabric to make as runners and painted polka dots on flower pots filled with candy and a silk flower as centerpieces. So chick!
My awesome mom made Mole which is a delicious authentic Mexican dish that is served at many Mexican parties. I love that woman! My sister bought Olivia the most darling cake and most tasteful, it had everyone coming for seconds. The candy was all the kids favorite thing of the party because they not only got candy in their treat bags but also all the candy from the pinata. The last part of the party was opening all the presents for Olivia and it was a little overwhelming for her because she could not figure out which toy to play with. She got lots of clothes and many toys for her birthday. The ultimate favorite activity was the giant bouncer we rented for her. That girl just loves to bounce and jump. Such a fun night so many good memories from her first birthday party. Now that is all over it's time to think about the next one.

It's so hard to believe that 1 year ago I was still pregnant and ready to pop. Now I am planning my baby's 1st birthday party!Since Olivia was about six months old I got really excited and started planning her first birthday! Though I did not do much I did come up with the party theme. Now I do not like characters themed parties like Winnie the Pooh or Dora the Explorer. Yuck! So I wanted it to be more modern and cool and I came up with this. From here and here.Polka dots and flowers! What girl does not love some dots and beautiful flowers. As much as as I wanted it to be all pink I decided to mix some other colors to go with that soft pink like green, purple, yellow, and orange.

The first part of planning a party is choosing date, time, location and invitations. It took most of our YoungLife assignment to figure what I wanted for and the end I came up with this.

This is a pop up card using all Stampin' Up Stamps. This very cute idea I got from one of my favorites blog from another demonstrator in another state. Her blog is on my fave sites list on the top right corner of my blog or you can click here to check it out. I wanted to do something different and pretty using one of my favorite SU Stamps called Fifth Avenue Floral. It's so chick, hip and cool all the qualities I look for. Although It took me a while I had so many people help me thanks Jay, Javi, Laura, Maggie and Adrianne. Now I can relax as they are on their way to to the hands of our guest! Yay!

Now the fun part really begins shopping for party decorations, centerpieces, pinatas and all that fun stuff. I will post more on our party planning status.

YoungLife Camp

Well most of this month we spent it here at this awesome YoungLife Camp for our assignment as part of our job. Chris gets to do program(all the funny characters that are in charge of all the fun activities at camp) and my job is to be a spouse(kick back and enjoy camp) It has been awesome seeing kids being loved by their leaders and the other staff here at the camp and how many people volunteer to serve and be Jesus to them. My biggest moment was to see the Capernaum kids(kids with disabilities) up here. Many of them are just out casted by society and many of them just ignored. First week of camp was just for them. You know they need Jesus too! It was awesome to see them enjoy life and camp just like any other typical kid. I cried tears of joy when I saw a kid in a wheel chair go down the slide as the whole camp cheered for him. Oh man if you just saw his face it was wonderful. I love them! Second it was all Wyldlife(junior high kids)camp but we were sick so we did not enjoy camp as I would have loved but I know it was a great week. I just love how much energy they have when they sing songs and do all the activities. Tomorrow we start our last week up here and we will have more Wyldlifers here. Yey. So excited!

Vacation

We spent the week in Long Beach California so that Chris and his program team could get ready for assignment which is in two weeks. Well it was vacation for me I got to lay back and enjoy California. This was Olivia's first time at the beach and California as well. Although the ride was little long for her I know she enjoyed the cool weather. We actually had to go and buy socks, blanket and sweaters. Day two we stopped at Seal Beach which was a gorgeous beach! It was a rainy day but hey it was about 40 degrees cooler than back home. We also spent many hours at the local mall's indoor play area which was pretty cool. We visited Downtown Long Beach which had many cool shops and many bay tours. For only $24.00(for all of us)we went on a 45 min bay tour which was awesome for us but not so much for little Olive. Today we spent the morning in Santa Monica Pier but California is too cold to swim in the ocean. My Olive went in with her da da in Seal Beach but did not last very long in there. Too cold here. My favorite part of this tip was the good times with the fam and did I mention delicious food. Wow California you have food worth driving 5 hours for. Well this is our last day here and is sad to leave but excited to go home to my new Stampin Up products.

I totally love scrapbooking! I am so happy that I finally got my wedding scrapbook done. Thanks to a friend of mine Kim Z that got me really excited about scrapbooking I have been scrapbooking like there was no tommorrow. Well now I am on to my HONEYMOON album and have about five pages done so far. The next pages I am working on is for our Cabo San Lucas pictures. I have been thinking of a passage to add on this picture.

I did not know how much I would love being a mommy. Olivia has been such a blessing in our lives and a precious gift from God. She sure has her moments like in the past few days when she screams at us if we do not feed her fast enough. It has been fun watching her grow from a tiny 6 pound baby to a 20 something pound pre-toddler. We are so excited to see what else is to come.

Cruise 09

Chris and I just celebrated our 2nd year anniversary. Wow I know time sure goes by fast when you are having fun. We decided to celebrate by going on a cruise. Although I cried the last night it was a good time for us to get away for a few days without Olive. For less then $500 for both we were able to go on a 4 day cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. The thing we were most excited about was all the delicious food on board that is included on the fare. I say we both gained a few pounds each because we went through the buffet table a few times. Our favorite dish was the lobster tail we had for dinner one of the nights. We visited The Blowhole in Ensenada which was really neat. The entertainment on board the ship was awesome, the cruise director sure new what he was doing. Overall we were very please with Carnival cruise can not wait to plan another cruise with them! Can not wait to scrapbook our trip.

Stampin Up

I was introduced to Stampin Up a few months ago and it was not very long before I fell in love with their products. It is a stamp company that sells stamps an tools to help you make beautiful cards, scrapbook pages and other cute handmade projects. I am enjoying using my stamps as I feel like my creative sides comes out of me. There a so many neat techniques that I just enjoy trying. On the search for new appliances

Well last Monday was a busy day for us. We drove all over town to try to find new appliances since coincidentally both our stove and refrigerator went out the same week. After going to several appliance stores we finally found our new appliances. Our first stop was Spencer's T.V & Appliance in Mesa. We loved everything about them customer service, products and prices. We had other stops at several major appliance stores and small warehouse but were disappointed with their customer service, prices, or both. Let me tell you that after looking all day Spencer's T.V. & Appliance Store had the best appliances, costumer service, and prices. For no more than $1,600 we got Whirlpool appliances with 5 year warranty, delivery charge and did I mention tax was included. So if you want quality appliances, good customer service, and the best prices you definitely have to check out Spencer's.
